Travel Credit Cards - Smart Power Strip - A Simple Way For Conserving Electricity in the House
Eliminating this waste of energy is one of the more simple ways to conserve energy in the house and reduce your electricity bills. We commonly use the term phantom electricity usage to describe this. Reduce energy costs related to appliances that continue to consume electricity when turned off (standby state), the focus today is on a home energy saving tip which addresses a universal problem by all.
Here is a partial list of some appliances to consider: And continues to grow at a fairly good rate, the number of appliances in your house falling into this category is larger than you may think. You would be surprised to learn that many electronic appliances in the home continue consuming electricity when they are turned off and not being used (standby state).

Take a few minutes and look around and I am sure you will get a better view for your specific case and where you can start reducing your electricity bill. We are all paying for standby electricity use although just to different degrees, in one way or another. This could imply between 5-10% of your electricity bills is being wasted due to this standby electricity consumption. Some estimate that up 75% of your electricity costs for similar electronic appliances is when they are turned off!
You can begin conserving electricity in the house by unplugging appliances when not used. What is the solution?
This essentially will put a quick end to the phantom electricity effect and reduce energy costs. One appliance acts as a control device and turns off power to the other devices on the smart power strip, you can plug multiple appliances into the same device. One on my favorite solutions is to install one or many smart power strips which will do most (if not all) of the thinking and work for you (and consume less energy). The reality is this no cost solution is far more complex when considering the inconvenience of unplugging certain appliances, however.
This can be helpful for prolonging the life of your electronic appliances. Smart power strip devices have surge protectors and noise reduction measures built-in as well, on top of helping you to reduce energy costs. The two main areas where smart power strips are very useful would be your living room near the television and also in the bedrooms for computer equipment. You should carefully consider using these especially in areas where you have multiple appliances, to start conserving electricity in the house.
Therefore individual action will be needed to achieve results towards conserving electricity in the house, the reality is that this will take some time. The goal should remain that product manufacturers make improvements on designs and implement solutions for standby electricity and consume less energy overall.
